The Sagitto System

The Sagitto system comprises

  • one or more miniature NIR instruments, connected by Bluetooth LE to
  • Sagitto's iOS app, running on an iPhone or iPad and connected via the Internet to
  • Sagitto’s proprietary Web App, which manages account details and stores all the predictions, and provides customised reporting,
  • hosted within Microsoft Azure Machine Learning (‘AzureML’), in a private Workspace,
  • providing Data Science As A Service with
  • customised documentation and data stored in a private Github repository.

Sagitto provides a complete system, to enable you to get the most from miniature spectroscopy instruments.

Miniature Spectrometer

Sagitto's miniature Near Infrared spectrometer is based on the NIRscan™ Nano design from Texas instruments, and operates in the wavelength range of 900nm to 1,700 nm. It is very small and light weight, with a lithium polymer battery that is rechargeable through a microUSB connection. Designed to be entirely controlled from your iPhone or iPad using Sagitto's iOS app and Bluetooth LE, this is the ultimate in portable and affordable NIR instruments.

Fluid Handling Attachment

Sagitto's fluid handling attachment allows the spectrometer to be converted for use with fluid samples within seconds. Fluid samples (minimum 1.0 ml) can be drawn into a quartz glass flow cell using a small peristaltic pump, through high-quality Teflon-lined tubing. Alternatively, the flow cell attachment can be swapped for a fixed optical glass cuvette attachment, when sample volumes of as little as 0.2 ml need to be measured

Sagitto's spectrometer fits in the palm of your hand yet has all the power of much larger instruments.

Sagitto only needs a few mls of oil to accurately measure its properties using NIR transflectance spectroscopy.
